About the Library

The Parañaque City College - Information Resource Center serves the information needs of the College community, the scholarly world, and the general public. The resources and services of the library have been assembled to meet the specific needs of the members and the academic community.  The mission of the library is based on the dual goals of providing access to information while assuring the preservation of library resources and collections.  In achieving these goals, the library will ensure access for all users who need information while implementing appropriate standards to provide for the preservation of library materials and resources. Individual users share access to the finite resources of PCCIRC/the library with all other users.

The Library's History

In 2019, the old library was located on the first floor of the North Wing Building with a capacity of approximately 80 seats and a total collection of 2,000 volumes of books. In 2020, the library was transferred to the South Wing Building with 2 floors and was named Information Resource Center (IRC). The IRC opened its doors to users in June 2021.

In 2022, the IRC in collaboration with the National Library of the Philippines installed the KOHA Integrated Library System. In the same year, the IRC added special collections donated by the embassies of Japan, Taiwan, and Korea. Also, the IRC was expanded and two sections were added such as the Filipiniana section and the Reference section.
